The scriptures, especially the New Testament and the Book of Mormon teach that faith is rewarded with numerous blessings, both seen and unseen. The most powerful and memorable blessings of faith are the cases where big things happen, but that doesn't make the smaller blessings any less miraculous. I'd like to share a few of my favorite miracles that came because of faith in the Book of Mormon. Ammon and his brothers and friends chose to serve a mission among their enemies and teach them the gospel of Jesus Christ. Even when everyone else told them they would be unsuccessful. Their prayers were answered and faith was rewarded when many of the Lamanites were converted to the gospel.Alma and Amulek endured many afflictions and persecutions from the people when they were trying to preach the gospel. They were put in prison and patiently endured their afflictions. They prayed for deliverance, and the prison walls fell around them, but they were unharmed.
The brother of Jared asked the Lord how they would have light as they traveled to the Promised Land. The Lord told him to bring Him a solution and He would provide light. The brother of Jared presented God with 16 stones and asked Him to touch them so they would give light. As a result of his faith, he saw the Savior who revealed “all things” to Him.
There are many examples of blessings of faith in the Book of Mormon, showing the hand of God and the love He has for His children. I’m grateful for their examples and perseverance through their challenges and patience while they are waiting for their miracle. I hope to look to these scripture heroes' examples of faith as I experience challenges in my life.
