Viva Las Vegas

My family and I got to Vegas this weekend for the WAC Basketball Tournament. As some of you may know I am the ball girl for the UVU Women's Basketball team and have been for 7 years! I love it so much! The won their first tournament game on Wednesday in overtime so we went up to watch them play on Friday. The coach reserved us a room in the Orleans hotel where all the teams stay and where the arena is. It was so cool!I was a little scared sometimes because we were in Vegas, but it was a family-friendly hotel. They had this awesome casino and restaurants inside the hotel, even a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory! :)

We loved the UVU elevator

When the coach got there with our room key, the whole team was there. It was a big hug line and seriously the best thing. I felt so special and loved. I love my UVU girls!!

On Friday morning we went to explore Vegas more before watching the game. We went to the Bellagio hotel where they have these fountains that "dance" to music. They were also working on some displays in the gardens, made of just flowers! It was really neat and smelled really good!

The Orleans arena was super awesome! They had moving walkways and escalators just like an airport. We made lots of fun signs before going into the stadium. I sat down on the front row because I figured if I can't be on the bench with the team, I want to be as close as possible. As my parents and I were sitting and waiting for the game to start, the assistant coach walked by and handed me a lanyard with a pass on it. It said "BENCH". So guess what that meant??? I got to do the water and towels! It was the best day ever! We fought really hard but ended up losing by 1 point! It was really sad and I was crying at the end, but we had a great season and I was privileged to be a part of it! And it was a lot of fun going to Vegas!

Always have hope,

Colby
