This is one of my favorite quotes from the recent General Conference. Elder Holland is always one of my favorite speakers because he speaks so clearly and I can relate to what he is sharing.
His most recent talk was an inspiring one. It is titled Tomorrow the Lord Will Do Wonders among You. In this talk he talks about how we were all sent to this earth to progress and become better; and the only way that we can reach perfection is through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. He says that "the great thing about the gospel is we get credit for trying; even if we don't always succeed."
The Lord blesses those who keep trying and He is always there to help us reach our full potential and become the people we are meant to be.
I love this talk because I know that we all need motivation in our lives to do the things we need to do. We live in a society today that sets very high standards regarding perfection, and what people are supposed to be and act like. But this talk helped me realize; even more than I had before, that this life is a journey and it is meant to be a process. And as long as we try our best and get up and try again when we fail, we will be doing just fine. And that's what the Atonement is here for, to balance out our faults and help us. So keep trying, you are doing the best you can and that will help you succeed.
Always have hope,
Colby
